Can see the confusion
I'm thinking your markings are more consistent with
Decantha stonda
- Hodges#1045.

Actually...
one problem I saw with D. stonda (Hodges#1045) is that it's range appears to be west of the Mississippi. All BG submissions are from west of the Mississippi and the range map at
Butterflies and Moths of North America
shows the same thing. The
South Carolina Moths Checklist
doesn't list it as having been found here. Though, I have to agree, the markings are consistent with D. stonda.
D. stecia (Hodges#1043) is a possibility, at least it's known from South Carolina, but the area right behind the head is a dark color in the images I have seen of it. South Carolina Moths Checklist shows it reported from one SC county in the area where Ga., Tenn., SC., and NC. come together and from two counties near Charleston, SC.
D. boreasella (Hodges#1042) is also shown in the South Carolina Moths Checklist in the same two counties near Charleston, SC. and from a county near Columbia, SC (this is very close to where I live in Aiken, SC).
I'll move it to genus level in a couple days, unless someone ID's it to species level.
