That scorpion also looks to be gravid. I caught several of those when I was in FLa. never took any home though :(

it was. I collected them to get photos with first instars, and then released shortly after, although I have kept several in the past.

Not
sure of the their Florida range, but they seem to be the most common scorpion in southern FL of the three species.
A 40mm body length is a large adult.
