Bellura densa
According to Chris Schmidt, this is
densa
, "... squared off wing, abdomen sticking past, less angled reniform...", despite the date. Please let us know if there is reason to disagree.

Pickerelweed Borer Moth
It must have gone under the bark to overwinter then pupate. The poplar log it was on was at the edge of a small swamp that has pickerelweed.
