Aquatic Larva - Rhithrogena brunneotincta Aquatic Larva - Rhithrogena brunneotincta

Moved
Moved from Rhithrogena.

Rhithrogena brunneotincta
is the final placement.

Rhithrogena sp.
Decided that this was much too large for R. jejeuna, possibly R. gaspeensis, but the larva has never been described.

Heptageniidae: Rhithrogena jejuna
Rhithro. jejuna matches up quite well.

Species level
That's great. Don, thanks for the ID.

Heptageniidae: Rhithrogena sp.
Rhithrogena have the gills modified to form a giant abdominal sucker. Would need to see the anterior margin/front of the profemora to do much more, but it looks like R. impersonata, maybe R. manifesta. I suppose you don't have the larva anymore? Gill color can vary considerably in a few heptageniids.

Stream Mayfly
Thanks again Don and Andy. Does the close-up of the legs I added help?

Heptigenidae
This is one of the Flat Headed Mayflies. I have never say one of these guys with green gills before.

i think
this is an mayfly larva

3 tails
is right for Mayflies, but I haven't seen any like this or the other new ones I found. I found these on the undersides of rocks in a stream, and this one seemed to have a suction cup on it's stomach, it was on the rock so good.
