I didn't even think that is was a worn fly, but I think you're right. Thanks John.

Pollenia?
I think it is a very worn Pollenia. Lots of yellow fur visible in the ventral shot.

Could be rudis
My guess was P. rudis. I don't see the hair tuft under the wings that indicates P. pediculata.
