Fire-Colored Beetle larva - Schizotus cervicalis

Fire-Colored Beetle larva - Schizotus cervicalis

Found under birch bark on a large log near a small stream.

Moved from Beetles.

Schizotus cervicalis Newman
This is a larva of Schizotus cervicalis Newman. It has the "look" of being in a pre-pupal stage of the final instar. Finding it in a birch log near a stream is very typical for this boreal (and "borealesque")species.

Or maybe
Cucujidae or Pyrochroidae?

Cucujidae or Pyrochroidae? YES!
There are two pyrochroid species and a cucujid here. The two "greenish" individuals are Schizotus cervicalis Newman; the yellowish-orange duo look like Dendroides canadensis (Latreille) and the three coppery-orange larvae are Cucujus clavipes Fabricius.

It's one of those
but I'm not sure if it's a match for any of those.
