Ground Beetle (Carabidae) - Agonum muelleri

Ground Beetle (Carabidae) - Agonum muelleri
Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada
May 4, 2006
Size: 8 mm Body Length
I presume this beetle is from the Family Carabidae. Is that correct and does anyone have an ID on a Genus/Species? My wife pointed to him crawling in the earth, while she and I were planting some bulbs; about 1:00 PM local time (NDT).

Moved tentatively
Moved from Agonum.

Moved
Moved from Platynini.

I confirm
. . . Donalds opinion, but I am not very positive that this Agonum can be identified by photo. I think it MIGHT be the holarctic muelleri - but I cannot see decisive characters on the pic, nor do I know if any nearctic species comes close to it.

cheers, Boris

Carabidae: Agonum sp.
I think it is an Agonum, but it doesn't look like one I have seen before.
