Explanation of Names
Patronym for entomologist Walter David Hunter (1875-1925) who worked on the Boll Weevil in Victoria, Texas from 1901-1905 (1) and almost surely collected the type series.
Range
Apparently known primarily from its type locality near the Texas coast north of Corpus Christi.
