I move this beetle to the Ctenicera page since that was already in the guide. Should it be changed to Actenicerus, or just put Actenicerus as a synonum?

yes, Actenicerus sjaelandicus (Mueller)
this guy was correctly IDed to sp. the first time, but assigning the species of the traditional American "
Ctenicera
" to various narrower genera had been a matter of endless debate for decades, and i have little hope we'll see the end of it

species ID withdrawn
Hi Tom,
hope I do not disappoint you . . . I just learned from a paper I fished from the web, Paul J.Johnson found out, there is not ours, but two sibling species in your fauna (Actenicera cuprascens LeConte, A.viridis Say, formerly subgenus of Ctenicera). Genus ID is better than nothing, and perhaps one of the species rules out because of distribution? Photo is excellent, in any case!
regards, Boris

Identified by Boris Bueche as Ctenicera (Actenicerus) sjaelandicus, an import from Europe.
