This is a rare species!

This genus has the ocelli slightly above the margin of the crown, as does Aphrodes, but has a much shorter head than that genus. The ocelli are closer to the eyes than to the apex of the head, which distinguishes this species from S. placidus, the only other species of this genus in North America.

Rare species
It took me 5 minutes following this one around until I could get a half way decent shot. I almost gave up, thinking this was something common like a meadow spittlebug. Glad I was persistant. Thanks for the ID Andy.
