Screen Door Moth - Archirhoe neomexicana

I don't think I could find this one on my own, or at least not with a full day of searching.

Not an ID but close
Archirhoe neomexicana - Hodges#7295

Definitely very close.
Thanks for the lead.

Not much else
that this can be. I compared all other congeners and looked at the similar Triphosa californiata, and this one is just too close a match for the other photos here of Archirhoe neomexicana. It fits well within the variation of that species, and it clearly is a common one as well. Wouldn't be surprised if the host plant were mesquite.

Image rotation
Do yourself a favor and rotate the image head up. Most moth images are done this way, and as you said this is a hard one. Few experts will do headstands for long trying to ID one moth when we have hundreds or thousands needing IDs.

Reoriented
I added a reoriented image. Then I discovered you can just replace the old one, which I also did. Now I need to figure out how to delete the added one.
