Leafhopper - Populicerus formosus - male

Leafhopper - Populicerus formosus - Male
Old Mill site in Westwood, elevation 5100', Lassen County, California, USA
August 6, 2008
Not a sharp image, but hoping someone can provide further ID help for this specimen - thanks!

Moved
Moved from Leafhoppers.

Idiocerus formosus
a pretty species from aspen; a male (note the black discs on the tips of the antennae, which only males of this genus have)

Thank You Andy ...
... for your ID and additional comments on this leafhopper. Aspen is a tree that occurs in small numbers in the woods around here. The forestry folks are making efforts to increase their numbers locally, so perhaps these leafhoppers will be on the increase around here also.
