Cricket Hunter with prey - Liris species - Liris argentatus - female

Cricket Hunter with prey - Liris species - Liris argentatus - Female
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
April 30, 2006
Size: 16mm
It was not easy to get a fairly good picture through all the grass and because of the speed of the cricket hunter (even with that size of the cricket compared to himself - astonishing!)

Moved
Moved from Liris.

Liris argentatus
There is a faint outline of the "M" on the frons and Liris argentatus is the only species found in the province.
Nice shot!

Great image.
You did a great job! I think we collectively decided the wasps are in the genus Liris, based on prey if nothing else:-)
