Elaphropus capax
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. New to BugGuide. MA is a new state record which I will convey to cataloger Yves Bousquet. Thanks Tom.

In northeast similar to E. xanthopus (smaller & with pale cloud at elytral apices) and E. vivax (dorsum reddish brown rather than black). There are of course other morphologic differences not visible with field photography.
