Which Stink Bug? - Podisus maculiventris

Which Stink Bug? - Podisus maculiventris
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
April 29, 2011
Size: unrecorded
Found on sycamore or sweet-gum tree, I can't read my own handwriting on this. These have never been all that common in this area, most stink bugs like this being rather drab. It wouldn't let me get an all-over, shy I guess. Can it still be ID'ed?

=v='s vote wasn't good enough for you? :)

Urrrk!
My apologies to you both. I wasn't thinking (not new) and was merely trying to get the pics off ID request by parking them in a "safe" place. That's what happens when I get in a rush. Sorry, guys....

No apology needed...
Just jerkin' yer chain a bit. :)

Wondering
if it might be the Spined Soldier Bug (Podisus maculiventris), or a close relative...

I'll be interested to learn what the experts think.

you have my vote, Ken
