Moved
Moved from Spiders. Rod Crawford says, "It is M. mandibulata, and subspecies is probably OK. Punctata doesn't occur in the east. Subspecies, as a rule, do not overlap."

..
Presumably.. (big breath) Microlinyphia mandibulata mandibulata.

Thanks, Kevin.
I lightened the pictures a bit. I can crop closer or take another photo if it would help you breathe easier. Is this a male?

Yes!
Yes!

Microlinyphia mandibulata mandibulata
Looks right to me, but I'm just comparing to the other one in the guide.. not using any resources. Do you think we should move these to the subspecies page?

..
I should have added that my assumption about the subspecies is based solely on the eastern/western geography.

I still have the specimen
but it's not in alcohol. Should I put it in now? Maybe I could send it to you sometime if I collect enough spiders to make it worthwhile.

..
Hi Karl,

Yes, you are welcome to do so. Drop me a note directly if you like (bg-at-tiros.net); I'll be in the States this year the latter part of June.
