Coreidae with collapsing antennae - Sinea spinipes

Coreidae with collapsing antennae - Sinea spinipes
Fairfield, Wayne County, Illinois, USA
May 3, 2006
I didn't get good ID shots but thought the trick with the antennae was neat.

Moved
Moved from Sinea.

Looks like a coreid,
but could it be something else that just has that body shape?

It's got the spiny arms of a Sinea
and the image at also has those elbowed antennae. That would make it Reduviidae!

Agreed.
It is indeed a reduviid. They often take this posture, though I'm not sure for what reason. Probably is a Sinea species, but maybe not S. diademata.

Spines
It definitely had but I didn't get a good image. Thanks.
