Pseudomyrmex gracilis
Widespread in the Neotropics, it is introduced in Florida. It is a generalist nester in preformed cavities such as beetle burrows, under bark, hollow weed stems (or those hollowed by removing the pith), bamboo, palm leaf bases, etc. It's sting is relatively mildly painful, especially compared to the plant mutualist species in this genus. This species has a variety of color forms with varying amounts of reddish markings, including pure charcoal gray.

Thanks for the ID!
Both in Florida and in French Guiana the
Pseudomymex
seem to find me and sting me.
