Necrobia violacea - Male Female
Hillman State Park, Washington County, Pennsylvania, USA

Size: 5 mm est.
There were lots of these beetles on a deer carcass in advanced stages of decomposition. It was basically reduced to bones with some dried skin and cartilage. The beetles appear darker in this photo than they were in life.
