Paratachys rhodeanus
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen which is now a photo-voucher in the P.W.Messer collection. New to BugGuide and my reference collection. MA is a new state record which I will convey to cataloguer Yves Bousquet. Thanks Tom.
Distinguished from similar species in the northeast by noticeably smaller eyes and a pronotum clearly sinuate with sharper hind angles. Lorenz (2005) cites combination
Tachys (Paratachys) rhodeanus
. BugGuide can comply later pending the pertinent volume on Western Hemisphere Caraboidea by Terry Erwin
