Beetle 2011.05.07.2376 - Limonius basilaris
Moccasin Lake, Winston, Douglas County, Georgia, USA
May 7, 2011
Size: est. 5mm
Need help with ID if possible. Sorry Blaine, this one flew off after one photograph. Notice small parasite attached.

Moved
Moved from Click Beetles.
The only reason I moved him is due to the mite attached. FRASS if need be.

Limonius basilaris
This is another Limonius basilaris. The mite attached is probably phoretic (using beetle for transportation) and not parasitic.
