ID and feeding habit
I moved these from "Frass" unwittingly, and now cannot get just the second one back there. I wanted to call attention to confirm that this is in the genus
Buprestis
, not
Cypriacis
(which is a subgenus) and that it is not feeding on the poison oak, just basking there!

(Field Guide to Beetles of California
, by Evans and Hogue) says they are now in the genus
Cypriacis
. Is that correct?

up for taxonomic debate...
Bugguide treats Cypriacis as a subgenus of Buprestis, others consider it a separate genus. For now, either name is acceptable.
