I think the identification is correct
The spot looks like a deformity. Such things aren't rare, but they aren't normal either. It could have been damaged there while still a pupa, or any number of other things might have happened.

I'm going with Celastrina ech
I'm going with Celastrina echo but that prominent sub-marginal spot on the hind wing is puzzling. Then again, like I said earlier, I'm in Florida. What do I know about azures?
