Tibicen dealbatus spurious vein - Megatibicen dealbatus

Tibicen dealbatus spurious vein - Megatibicen dealbatus
Denver, Denver County, Colorado, USA
August 15, 2010
Size: Approximately 3.5 cm long
I thought I would add this image to the archive since I couldn't find any images of a cicada with a spurious vein. I collected two other specimens of the same species and neither had a spurious vein like this one.

Moved from ID Request.

Is that another spurious vein
Is that another spurious vein close to the leading edge of the smaller wing on the other side?

Spurious veins
Actually, I've noted spurious veins on other cicada species like Okanagana, Tibicen lyricen and of course Magicicada. Seems to be more common in females than males. At least in my experience.
