BugGuide-ers in northeastern Illinois! -- More travels for "Bug Eric"

Eric Eaton will be in the Chicago area toward the end of June and he has agreed to a book signing and will make a small presentation on "Gardening with insects in mind" on Friday evening, June 24. As we firm up details on the possibility of having his Kaufman Guide available for purchase and on the time and location of the presentation/book signing, we will post that information here. BugGuiders from the Chicago metropolitan area should consider themselves invited! And be sure to tell your gardening friends! Feel free to leave comments here or to contact us directly at the email address on our contributor page. It will be exciting to see our Chicago area insects and preserves through Eric's knowledgeable eyes.

Just wanted to give a public thank you to John and Jane for putting me up (or should I say "putting up with me?"), getting this event organized with help from several other folks; and for showing me around to their favorite forest preserves. You owe it to yourselves to visit some of these wonderful places when you visit Chicagoland. Jane even helped me recover from a bout of stomach flu, for which I am most grateful. Thank you both so much!

Schedule filling up!
My "schedule" is filling up fast, folks. I have plans for Saturday, June 25-Monday, June 27. So, the 22nd, 23rd, 28th, and 29th remain I remain uncommitted (so far). Looking forward to meeting some of you!

Eric will be visiting local northeastern Illinois natural areas
and is eager to meet and hike with those of us in the Chicago metropolitan area. He will be focusing his Friday talk on Bees and Wasps in the Garden. More later....

We have the location for Eric's talk
It will be held at the Tai Chi Center of Chicago at 4043 N. Ravenswood near the Irving Park brown line stop. We're in contact with Eric and will try and set a time.

I was just about to put up my own announcement, but you beat me to it:-) I would love to go afield with folks in the Chicago area, too, so feel free to contact me at BugEric24ATyahooDOTcom, or leave comments here and we can try arranging some field trips. I'll be arriving probably the 22nd or 23rd of June, and returning to Tucson on June 30. Heidi Genter will be with me, and we are already committed to a family reunion on June 25.
