"There are three western U.S. species of Brachypanorpa known, all of which look very similar and need to be examined closely for identification. None of them have been recorded from the state of Washington, so no matter what this species is, it is at least a new state record. The specimen photographed is a male. Without a specimen in hand to study under a microscope, I cannot identify it further."

Yes, I have the specimen mounted on a point. If more detailed or different angles of the specimen is needed let me know and I'll see what I can do. I'll see about locating another one as well. Is N.D. Penny located anywhere near my location?
