Explanation of Names
Evidently named for the Roman god Pluto; other species described on the same and preceding pages include Hispa bacchus, H. ariadne, H. erebus, and H. hecate (names likewise taken from Greek and Roman mythology, seemingly at random).
Life Cycle
Most Hispinae are leaf-miners.
