Synonyms and other taxonomic changes
Both D.K. Young(1) and D. Chandler (pers. comm.) agree with Nikitsky & Egorov (1992) that the genus is better placed in a separate family (rather than Anthicidae or Pyrochroidae)

Numbers
36 spp. worldwide, of which 3 in our area; all our spp. + 2 spp. from China belong to the subgenus Eupleurida LeConte 1862; the remaining 30 spp. (all Asian), to the subgenus Ischalia(1)(2)
