Robberfly - Efferia okanagana

Robberfly - Efferia okanagana
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada
May 10, 2006
Size: 20 mm
with prey - some kind of Wasp

Moved
Moved from Efferia.

Prey.
Prey is actually a species of Nomada (cuckoo bee). Good for size comparison. Now I know the fly is not as big as I thought initially:-)

Excellent
See the other shot of the male from Okanagan valley for comments. This is likely the female of the undescribed species as it also has the golden occipital hairs.
