I know nothing about species ID, and I'm not sure it can be done from a photo. Still, if anyone knows what this is, I'd love to add to my knowledge.

for the future: to have your images noticed by the experts and get IDs faster, please post all caddis-, stone-, and mayfly pix to the respective order pages rather than to ID Request (refer to this forum thread for more recommendations – by no means official but largely followed by most editors and many contributors, which helps expedite identification process)

Bob, you did nothing wrong at all --and of course it takes time to familiarize with the environment, interface, procedures, and ethos of the site... it's a sophisticated, sometimes tricky mechanism, and the process is in flux as we keep trying to figure out how to make it work more smoothly and efficiently for everybody.
i, for one, an very glad to see you join and post all those wonderful images -- keep up the great job. =v=
