Micro Moth - Pubitelphusa latifasciella

Micro Moth - Pubitelphusa latifasciella
Montrose, Laurens County, Georgia, USA
April 28, 2011
Size: less than 5 mm
After much fruitless investigation, I am waving the white flag. This moth doesn't seem to conform to any type that I can see. It could be because of the oddness of the angle of the shot and the fact I didn't get one of the "face", or, possibly, the wings/body are distorted-looking from the moth squeezing itself so tightly into the bark of the oak tree. Perhaps it just needs a look-see from one more familiar with it than I. Handsome-looking little bugger even if it can't be seen very well with the naked eye.

appears to be Telphusa latifasciella - Hodges #1857

Nice photo!

It sure does.....
Thanks, Maury. As much as I hunted for it, I sure didn't see it.
