tiny beetle larva #2991
Bioblitz Zone 4, Point Defiance Park, Pierce County, Washington, USA
May 20, 2011
Size: ~ 5 mm
Found under Hemlock bark in forest.

M.C. Thomas: "Definitely a laemophloeid. Beyond that....?"
Moved from ID Request.

Well, they have the larva
but I'll have to check to see if they plan to rear it.

good luck
rearing these may be very tricky and takes much experience. beetle larvae from such substrata tend to be finicky and expire just like that...

beetle larvae from such substrata
