Ceratagallia

Ceratagallia
Las Vegas Wash within the Clark County Wetlands Park, Clark County, Nevada, USA
May 23, 2011
Size: ~ 3 mm
Collected from a salt cedar tree (Tamarix ramosissima)

Moved
Moved from Leafhoppers.

Ceratagallia
Tamarix is not a native tree, so that is not one of the hosts of this native leafhopper genus.

Host Tree
Thank you Dr. Hamilton for the ID. I am conducting a survey of tamarisk feeding inverts along the Las Vegas Wash, only sweeping Tamarix sp. So, this specimen was definitley collected off of a Tamarix tree. There were very few other species in the area, perhaps it got blown in or was passing through?
