Pasimachus depressus - female

Pasimachus depressus - Female
Pocomoke River State Park, 38.1357, -75.4385, Worcester County, Maryland, USA
July 17, 2000
Size: 30 mm
Dead inside park nature center bathroom surrounded by sandy mixed (loblolly pine. oaks, hickories, sweet gum, etc. ) forest. Possibly had been attracted to light and then got trapped inside? In my experience, not commonly collected in Maryland. I've been told more frequent in the New Jersey Pine Barrens and then also in states further south. I believe the faint striations on the mandibles and overall duller satin finish mark this as a female.
Note: You must obtain a permit to collect insects in Maryland State Parks and State Forests.
