Shown below are the three dorsal views of this beetle species that I have posted:


I have photographed several others, and they all have the same general pattern on the elytra, with just slight variations. April and May seem to be their emergence time in this area and elevation. I have found only one of these beetles actually on the firewood. The firewood does show signs of insect activity: small holes, chewed-trails under the bark layer, and frass.
