May Beetle or June Bug? - Phyllophaga

May Beetle or June Bug? - Phyllophaga
Salt Lake, Salt Lake County, Utah, USA
May 14, 2006
Size: about 3/4 inch
Found this guy on his back in my lighted carport. It is not dead, as I found out just as I was taking him outside after the photography session. I think it's a May or June Bettle, or at least it resembles the ones in the Guide. Any ideas?

Phyllophaga.
My guess would be a species of Phyllophaga, but I'm curious why Phil has not chimed in since scarabs are his specialty. Please await his comments before posting to a guide page.
