Olethreutinae, Goldenrod Gall Moth - Epiblema scudderiana

Olethreutinae, Goldenrod Gall Moth - Epiblema scudderiana
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
May 30, 2011
Resting on a leaf of Stiff goldenrod, Solidago rigida
Sorry, but I have the darnest time searching for moth ID's. (I did try.)
Thanks.
After Ron's post: it's about time I saw one of these.

Moved
Moved from Epiblema desertana. Black spots basad of the ocellus are absent, but this is scudderiana.

Cool,
and thank you. To the untrained eye (me), they look quite similar.
I've still not seen (knowingly) a Goldenrod Gall Moth but maybe this year I'll collect the galls early enough to see the moth.

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Not an ID but...
...how about something like Goldenrod Gall Moth (Epiblema scudderiana)?

I didn't get a confirmation on mine but it looks right.

Very good Ron,
and thank you.
It was on goldenrod, in a 10A field of several species of goldenrod, adjacent to 25A of more goldenrod. It also looks right.
