It looks like Paul posted a much better specimen 4 days later:
. Even so, I think this has value as an illustration of why hairsteaks have the little tails- a predator (probably a bird) obviously thought it was grabbing it by the head, so it only got part of the wings.

Wings are damaged
It does look like something in that family- if not a hairstreak, maybe a blue. I'm sure someone more knowledgable will be able to ID it.
