Lacconotus punctatus LeConte
Yes, this is the mycterid, Lacconotus punctatus LeConte. I have specimens from several Wisconsin counties - largely in the southwestern quarter of the state - mostly from Malaise and flight intercept traps in oak & oak-pine savanna habitats.

this is supercool! suspect Lacconotus punctatus...
...but not sure yet, and want see as much of this beetle as possible --a really nice find, hope you kept the specimen

Sorry -- didn't keep the beetle. I returned it to where I found it in a local park. I'll post another photo. Too bad I didn't get better photos :(

the records i see stop at MI... although UW-Madison Insect Research Collection does list
L. punctatus
in their holdings, there is no indication whether there are any from WI
