Host plant
I assume that the plant was American Cranberrybush (
Viburnum trilobum
), not to be confused with cranberry, genus
Vaccinium
.
This non-native beetle seems to eat only viburnums.

Unknown to me
This doesn't look like a sawfly. Don't know what it could be.
