Found a few of these under the bark at the base of a large standing pine.

Nemadus triangulum
Just got the UNH Nemadus back from Stewart Peck, and your specimen fits his determinations of this species pretty well. Not sure about the gender of the species ending though - looks wrong.

Leiodidae: Cholevinae: Nemadus sp.
A small carrion beetle (close, different subfamily). I think Nemadus (color, form, transverse strigules on elytra), but would be good to keep for me to make sure.
