This common species, like many of our Delphacidae, has 3 distinct wing forms: brachypterous (shorter than the abdomen), macropterous (both wing pairs far exceeding abdomen), and this intermediate form, or submacroptery (fore wings about as long as abdomen, hind wings short or absent).
