Thinking this is a midge rather than a mosquito because of the plume-like antenea?

It's a midge, probably Chironomus or Glyptotendipes. Males of both mosquitoes and midges have fuzzy antennae. The easiest way to distinguish them is to look for the long beak that only mosquitoes have.
