Ateuchus lecontei - Ateuchus

Ateuchus lecontei - Ateuchus
Leesburg, Lee County, Georgia, USA
May 22, 2011
Size: 5.6mm
Collected from a pig dung trap (FSCA's Gainsville Gold). Submitting as A. lecontei
as it appears to me that the base of the pronotum and the base of the elytra are equal.
I have one A. histeroides where the same point is clearly below the the base of the elytra.
In both specimens, the sides of the pronotum are lower than the elytral base.
So, am I taking the comments too literally? If correct, I did not see a guide page. If
incorrect, I'll bet we can change it real fast.
