Unknown Noctuid - Caradrina

Unknown Noctuid - Caradrina
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
June 10, 2011
Size: 30mm wingspan.
Came to black light trap. (live oak/chaparral habitat).

Moved
Moved from Owlet Moths. 99.84% DNA match at BOLD to Caradrina multifera, & 98.53% match to Caradrina montana.
According to: http://bugguide.net/node/view/39647, C. multifera differs (from C. montana) in having bolder markings, brownish spots in the subterminal area, and doesn't occur west of Manitoba/Minnesota (except for disjunct population in British Columbia). However, MPG http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/species.php?hodges=9657 distribution map for C. multifera shows several records for California.

Moved
Moved from Moths.

Re: Unknown Noctuid
It looks like a Caradrina species.

Just a thought
Maybe one of the cutworm moths?
