Horned Passalus - Odontotaenius disjunctus

Horned Passalus - Odontotaenius disjunctus
Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 11, 2011
I broke open some extremely rotten logs to find some elytra and parts of these beetles. After a few more logs 2 beetles came out. I photographed them and them later found another. All the beetles were placed back in rotting logs. The reason for searching was because a month earlier I found a dead one lying in the grass near the log pile.
