I saw this at my blacklight, caught it, saw something else that I wanted to take a picture of, and stupidly having no container readily on hand, held it between my lips (I needed both hands for my camera. Immediately I felt a burning feeling on my lips. I took him out, and ~30 seconds later the burning feeling changed to a tingly numb-ish feeling. Now, ~10 minutes later the feeling is just beginning to fade.

Beetles have a plethora of defensive chemicals, especially ground beetles. I hope you never do that with a blister beetle! And nice beetle btw.
