Green thing and Ant - Pterophylla camellifolia - Male
Collegedale, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA
May 18, 2006
What is it?

Moved
Moved from Katydids.

the
green 'thing' is a katydid nymph. Katydids are in the Order Orthoptera but i forget what family

True katydid nymph.
I am pretty sure this is the nymph of a true katydid, Pterophylla camelifolia (spelling?). Family is Tettigoniidae. Great image. These insects normally live in the very tops of trees. You hear the adults far more often than you see them:-)

Omost spelled right
Common True Katydid (Pterophylla camellifolia)
