Cool fly - Chrysopilus thoracicus

Size: .5 inch
This is the odd fly I was trying to photograph the other day when I ended up getting a different fly image. I found one today. Here it is. No idea for sure what it is? I was thinking robber fly for a bit. Thank you. K.
