Moved
Moved from Hackberry Gall Midges.
Moved based on your comment here.

Moved
Moved from Celticecis semenrumicis.
Since this species is not recorded from Iowa in the new paper (1), I gather that Dr. Gagné was unable to confirm the ID.

Moved
Moved from ID Request tentatively, based on Dr. Gagne's comment: "I believe the purple ones are very young Celticecis semenrumicis galls that have not fully expanded."

Edit: On June 20, after receiving these galls in the mail, Dr. Gagne wrote: ". . . and the red item on the fresh twigs and leaves. The last item is strange to me; from your earlier photo I thought it was a young semenrumicis but these are quite young for this date. Should you notice any more in 2 or 3 weeks, would you send me a photo of one or more then? I have saved those for larvae that I will mount on microscope slides. These larvae are presently in the second instar. When they molt into the third, they will have more taxonomic characters available.
